THE AUC FUND—THE
COLLEGE’S ANNUAL FUND
These funds support current operations and can be restricted
according to your wishes or remain unrestricted for College leadership to use
for the current year's priorities.
Student, program, faculty, or library support are examples
of restricted gifts, as are gifts for campus beautification and classroom
upgrades. We encourage donors,
especially alumni, to think of Annual Fund gifts as ongoing support. Many new campus initiatives have been
funded by unrestricted AUC Fund support.
CAPITAL GIFTS
These gifts are investments in the College, which, in turn,
generate income. College
leadership invest these funds so that ongoing support is possible through fund
growth. Other types of capital
gifts are those that support a particular building or building upgrade
campaign—another form of investment in the College. An example of this is our renovation and repair of Founders'
Hall, a single large project that improves the overall value of the
institution's holdings. You can
specify where or how you would like a capital gift to be applied—either in
campus upgrade projects, in scholarships, in a loan fund for student or
faculty, or in an invested endowment that will generate further funds. You can also support the College through
memorial gifts in recognition of friends and professors who have made you the
interesting and successful person you are.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT?
Most private colleges, especially those that support the
mission of a particular denomination—in our case, the Seventh-day Adventist
Church—rely heavily on tuition and church-generated funds. This puts a burden on both students, to
whom we would like to provide more financial assistance, and to various church
entities, whose first mission is to spread the Gospel and care for their
communities in other ways.
Your gifts to AUC relieve these burdens and allow the school
to plan strategically with the primary mission of the institution guiding those
plans. Higher education is a complex and extremely expensive enterprise and
needs help from many fronts to build the campus and the campus endowment to
relieve dependence on others who are not often able to provide assistance. Our students, for example, are not
typically able to graduate without loans and scholarships; we believe that our
mission is to help them as much as possible. We cannot do that without you.
Financial resources supplied to the AUC Fund and to our
endowment are critical to maintaining the AUC experience that has produced so
many successful alumni.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR ANNUAL AND CAPITAL FUNDS
Gifts of cash through checks or credit cards or debits by
phone are always welcome. We will
very soon make online giving, both for one-time annual gifts and for ongoing
monthly or quarterly support possible.
Please check this page to see when this active.
Bequests, annuities, trusts, and other forms of deferred
gifs are also always welcome.
Promising even a small part of your estate in your will can,
independently and corporately among many alumni and friends, make a tremendous
difference in our endowment, which, in turn affects the lives of hundreds of
students and faculty.
To participate in either of these funds you can send us a
check, call us or write to us and include credit card information, or you can
ask us for the necessary papers to transfer real estate, gifts "in
kind," or stocks or bonds. We
will also be happy to send you a "Will Kit" that explains how to
remember AUC in your will. In any
case, we are here to answer your questions and to help you help others as
efficiently and effectively as possible. Please call donor and alumni services
at 978.368.2340 or send us an email at: advancement @auc.edu.
THANK YOU . . .
. . . for thinking of us—thinking of our students and
professors who work so hard to make this a dynamic and effective institution. We
hope to hear from you soon.
